High School Visit Day

In October the MatSE Department hosts a visit day for high school students and family members. Visitors learn about the different types of materials, tour undergraduate laboratories, and enjoy a free pizza supper with students and professors. To arrange a department visit, contact the MatSE main office at 217-333-1441 or matse@illinois.edu.

ASM Teachers Camp

In the summer the MatSE Department sponsors a one-week camp at the University of Illinois for high school teachers. Workshops are conducted by master teachers and participants leave the camp with classroom ready activities. The camp is free for teachers, plus they can receive continuing education units (CEUs) or graduate credit for their participation.
