Official Description
Explores the electronic and photonic devices based on two-dimensional (2D) materials. More specifically, this course will discuss the synthesis and characterization of a variety of 2D materials. This course will also introduce the design, fabrication and physics of various nanoscale devices, including logic transistors, radio frequency devices, tunneling devices, photodetectors, plasmonic devices, lasers and valleytronic devices. The lab sessions will provide the students hands-on experience on the fabrication and characterization of 2D electronic/photonic devices. The lab sessions will be carried out in the nanofabrication laboratory in ECEB. Course Information: Prerequisite: ECE 340 or equivalent.
