MatSE at Illinois aims to inspire the next generation of materials scientists and engineers with outreach activities for middle and high schoolers.

The Grainger College of Engineering will open its doors April 8-9 to elementary students, who will explore more than 100 exhibits from all the engineering disciplines the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign has to offer.

High schoolers are invited to attend our GEMS Camp (Gender Equity in Materials Science) July 24-30. GEMS focuses on supporting and empowering traditionally excluded populations in STEM. Campers will explore the materials science of chocolate and superheroes, advanced manufacturing methods, biomaterials, crystallography and sustainable energy solutions. Apply by March 6.
