Section Description
Fundamental theory behind density-functional theory calculations; basics of electronic structure and correlation; practical aspects of DFT calculations; controlled and uncontrolled approximations in DFT; applications of DFT calculations to problems in materials science.
Prerequisites: MSE 304, PHYS 486, MSE 500 or equivalents
