Congratulations to Professor Zuo, who has been selected as one of Intel’s 2019 Outstanding Research Award winners for his collaborative research on “Enhanced Strain and Structural Analysis based on TEM” with Intel.

Annually, Intel recognizes the exceptional contributions made through Intel university-sponsored research with Outstanding Researcher Awards. These distinguished researchers and technologists have been nominated and selected by Intel's Corporate Research Council (CRC) and the Strategic Research Sector (SRC) committee. In selecting the award winners, careful consideration is given to the fundamental insights, industrial relevance, technical difficulty, communications and potential student hiring associated with a candidate's research program.

“The analysis tools we developed Intel transform academic research into cutting-edge technology," said Zuo. "By doing so, we solved a really challenging problem, that is the metrology of strain in nm-sized transistor devices." The work included contributions from several students, especially Renliang Yuan, a Ph. D Student in MatSE.
