Racheff-Intel Awards Given for Outstanding Graduate Research

Three MatSE graduate students were given the Racheff-Intel Award for Outstanding Graduate Research in Materials Science and Engineering Monday at the Department Colloquium.

The Racheff-Intel Award recognizes graduate students for outstanding materials research. The award, presented by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois, consists of a plaque and up to $1,000 in financial support to attend a conference within 18 months from the date of the award. 

During Monday's MatSE Department Colloquium, the three awardees gave presentations on their research. 

Ravi Agarwal, in the Trinkle Group, presented on "Solute transport in magnesium using first-principles calculations." 

Kaimin Cai, in the Cheng Group, presented on "High Drug Loading Trigger-responsive Nanoencapsulates for Cancer Therapy."

Hojun Kim, in the Leal Group, presented on "Cuboplexes: Topologically Active siRNA Delivery."
